Semi-trailer truck with furniture from Penza arrested on Kaliningrad region custom post

Penza, 19 March 2015. PenzaNews. A DAF semi-trailer truck going from Penza through Lithuania was arrested at the customs post of the Kaliningrad region.
“According to the documents presented by the driver, the car carried furniture with a total gross weight of 11,811 kilograms. The customs officers decided to inspect the goods, identifying and weighing the load. As a result, the inspectors found out the truck carried 7,835 kilograms and 424 boxes of goods more than declared,” the official spokesperson of the Kalinigrad region customs told PenzaNews agency.
The infringement was caused by a total of 174 units of sliding door wardrobes, mirrors, beds, drawer chests, tables, bedside drawers and flexible base for “Yunona” beds, the spokesperson clarified.
“We have initiated criminal proceedings against the transport operator on committing an administrative offense under part 3, Art. 16.1 of the Administrative Code, titled ‘Illegal trafficking of international haulage goods and/or vehicles through the customs border of the Customs Union’,” said the speaker.
