Penza murderer of young man killed at club “Dobro” received sentence
Penza, 30 March 2015. PenzaNews. Afik Gafarov, 18, who was found guilty of murdering Stanislav Kholkin, 28, by the Penza entertainment center “Dobro,” was sentenced to 8 years in penal colony.
“Investigation and the court found that two groups of people had a quarrel late at night on October 19, 2014, by the entrance to the club, which expanded into a mass brawl, with around 30 people involved in the conflict. During the fight, the accused punched the victim, 28 at least 21 times in different parts of the body, and then, armed with a folding knife, he stabbed the man at least eight times. The victim died on the way to the hospital,” Lyudmila Fomina, Senior Assistant of the Head of the Investigative Department of the city Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, told PenzaNews agency.
She added that the attacker also stabbed another man, 33, who suffered minor injuries.
“The young man fled the scene immediately after the incident. A few days later he came to law enforcement agencies on his own for investigation,” the agency interlocutor reminded.
Lyudmila Fomina noted that the sentence has not entered into force yet and may be appealed within the statutory period.
