Belinsky area doctor fined 50,000 rubles for taking bribe

Penza, 3 June 2015. PenzaNews. A doctor of the Belinsky town hospital in the Penza region was found guilty of taking a bribe by the court verdict.

“The court and the investigation found the man demanded a bribe of 5,000 rubles from a local resident for extending his sick leave certificate while admitting him during his work hours in early December 2014. Following that, the man added the falsified information to the document, for which he received the money demanded,” Lyudmila Fomina, Senior Assistant of the Head of the Investigative Department of the city Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, informed PenzaNews agency.

She added that the court sentenced the doctor to a fine of 50,000 rubles – ten times the bribe, – and a seven-month ban on issuing sick leave certificates.
