Penza, 9 June 2015. PenzaNews. The Penza police investigators identified the men who were involved in a series of bike thefts in Antonova street apartment buildings in May 2015.

“These are two residents of Zarechny, 19 and 22, each with a criminal record,” the press service of the Penza region Ministry of the Interior department informed PenzaNews agency.

The thieves were using the same strategy for all their crimes, the officials explained.

“They were infiltrating the lobbies of apartment buildings in the evening and stealing unattended bicycles, both adult and children’s models, using the tools they brought with themselves to cut any security wires. They were hiding the stolen bicycles in the forest by the GPZ-24 neighborhood, and later selling them to unidentified people in the city markets,” the police said.

The culprits have already been identified as involved in eight crimes, the press service added.

“We have initiated a criminal case on the acts of theft. The suspects have been detained,” the police noted.
