Penza, 17 June 2015. PenzaNews. A resident of the Sosnovoborsk area in the Penza region, 36, who has been suspected of hijacking a ZiL fire truck made in 1973, confessed he committed the crime to get home faster.

The police received a report about the missing car from a rural council representative, the press service of the Penza region Ministry of the Interior department informed PenzaNews agency.

“He explained that somebody infiltrated a garage of the Nikolo-Barnuki village administration by breaking the lock and hijacked the fire truck parked there,” they said.

The suspect already has a criminal record, the press service noted.

“He will now face a criminal case on misappropriation of the vehicle. The fire truck was returned to the village administration, the police added.”
