Penza lifesavers rescue four men who got carried off shore on air matress

Penza, 22 June 2015. PenzaNews. The Penza lifesavers rescued four men on an inflatable air mattress that got carried away from the shore of the Surskoe water basin by the current. The incident took place on Sunday, June 21, by Alferyevka village of the Penza area in the Penza region.

“A motor boat was immediately dispatched to the men, and they were towed to the shore,” the press service of the Penza region head EMERCOM department informed PenzaNews agency.
The men did not require any medical assistance, they stressed.
“They were instructed on how to act in such situations to prevent further incidents,” the press service added.
The head EMERCOM department in the region urged the people to be more careful during their recreation activities when swimming on inflatable mattresses, refrain from consuming alcohol before or during going for a swim, and closely watch after the children.
“If you got caught in an accident or witnessed one, call 101, or 112 from a mobile phone,” the press service added.
