Kuznetsk, 27 June 2015. PenzaNews. The police are investigating an incident in Kuznetsk town of the Penza region after and elderly woman, 79, received multiple burns.

“At 1.20 am of Saturday, June 27, the police office of Kuznetsk received a report of a small blast sounded in a house on Dachnaya street. A dispatch immediately moved to the location. Based on preliminary information, the incident was caused by a gas leak due to repairs that involved removing a gas-using equipment. When the owner of the house turned on the lights, the mixture of gas and air detonated. The resulting explosion broke the windows and damaged the floor, the walls and the ceiling,” the press service of the Penza region Ministry of the Interior department informed PenzaNews agency.

The exact details of the event are yet to be established, they added.
