Penza, 23 July 2015. PenzaNews. A Penza citizen, 29, fell victim to a fraud in an attempt to work as a driver in the Penza city administration.

“In his report to the police, he explained that he found a job ad on Avito.ru website and called the listed phone number. An anonymous person on the other end on the phoneline invited him to the city administration building for a job interview. When the man was on his way, the person called him again and asked to make a transfer to help the former pay for his Internet services, saying the man will be reimbursed for that when they meet. Following their instructions, the man transferred 2,000 rubles to a cell phone account,” the press service of the Penza region Ministry of the Interior department informed PenzaNews agency on Thursday, July 23.

An investigation is currently underway, they said.

“The police are establishing the identities of the culprits. The phone number used by the culprit is registered in a different residential area,” the police said.
