Penza, 9 September 2015. PenzaNews. A MAZ truck carrying 20 tons of sand overturned on Zakharova street in Penza in the afternoon of Wednesday, September 9.

The driver of the truck Rushan Asanov described that he felt the truck stopped breaking when he was driving down the Mira street.

“I was afraid of hitting a pedestrian. […] So I ‘flopped’ it on the side to avoid it,” he explained.

The witnesses of the accident told PenzaNews agency that the truck took a sharp turn and nicked a Toyota Land Cruiser in front of him, along with a Kia Sephia on the opposite traffic lane.

Afterwards, the truck scraped three more cars before coming to a stop.

At the moment, the Zakharova street road is covered with a thick layer of sand.

The traffic police officers at the location are yet to gather all evidence and witness reports.
