“It was established that a police dispatch that patrolled the area by the ‘Krokus’ shopping center on May 28, 2014, detained a visibly drunken, poorly dressed, disoriented man, who was subsequently brought to the police station No. 3. While in the foyer of the police station, the man was very rude and aggressive, and used vulgar language loudly. After the man walked into the turngate-protected staff area, the policewoman in question demanded him to leave the premises. However, the man suddenly and with apparent intent punched her in the face and the neck two times, after which he grabbed her by the hair and began pulling down,” Natalya Bychenkova, press secretary of the Penza regional court, informed PenzaNews agency.

The man declined to plead guilty, she pointed out.

“The court took into account the fact that the man, a former convict, had a large fine record and is monitored in the regional detoxification clinic as a chronic alcohol addict,” Natalya Bychenkova said.

She explained that the man tried to appeal the case, but with no success.

“The sentence has come into force,” Natalya Bychenkova stressed.
