“According to investigators, a local woman, 27, organized an illegal gambling parlor using gambling machines in a rented space to make profit, hiring several people as administrators, security personnel and general staff,” Lyudmila Fomina, Senior Assistant of the Head of the Investigative Department of the city Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, told PenzaNews agency.

The law enforcement closed down the parlor, she added.

“The gambling machines were seized during an inspection of the premises,” Lyudmila Fomina clarified.

According to her, the investigators are currently gathering the evidence.

In turn, the press service of the Penza region Ministry of the Interior department noted the location is notorious for having been used as a gambling machines parlor before.

Over 700 seized “one-armed bandits” were sent away for dismantling by the local police throughout 2015 so far, they added.
