Penza, 8 November 2015. PenzaNews. An elderly woman has died in a fire that took over a 4-room standalone wooden house on Zaporozhnaya street in Penza. The tragic incident took place on Saturday, November 7.

According to information that is yet to be confirmed, the fire may have sparked from a memory candle the elderly woman lit on the anniversary of her husband’s death.

23 firemen and 7 machines were involved in extinguishing the flames, the Penza region EMERCOM head department says on its website.
