Kamenka area imam fined for extremist literature in mosque

Penza, 23 November 2015. PenzaNews. The head of the Muslim religious organization in Kobylkino village of the Kamenka area in the Penza region was fined under Art. 20.29 of the Administrative Code, titled “Production and Dissemination of Extremist Materials.”

“A prosecution audit has revealed that a leaflet ‘Stories from Quran’ and a book ‘General Introduction into Islam’ that were included in the federal extremist materials roster were available in the mosque free for believers to read and distribute,” Yulia Makarova, Senior Assistant Attorney of the region in Media Relations, informed PenzaNews agency.

After reviewing the case, the court sentenced the imam to a fine of 1,000 rubles, she added.
