Court passes sentence upon driver who killed school No. 43 principal in traffic accident

Penza, 8 December 2015. PenzaNews. The court has passed a sentence upon the driver of a Mazda 6 car that hit Dmitry Sviridov, director of the Penza school No. 43, in spring 2015 mere days before the “Farewell Bell” school holiday, causing the victim do succumb to injuries in the hospital shortly afterward. The driver now faces 1 year and 8 months in prison.

The tragic accident took place late at night by “Kollazh” shopping and entertainment center; the head of the school was walking on the sidewalk when the accident took place. The driver decided to escape the scene immediately after the collision.
“The investigation involved a large number of forensic examinations and other measures in order to establish the identity and location of the culprit. As a result, the investigators proposed that a Penza citizen, 28, with a criminal record and without a driving license was directly involved in the accident. In August 2015, the police identified the location of the suspect and detained him until the court decision,” the press service of the regional Ministry of the Interior informed PenzaNews agency.
The driver fully admitted the guilt, they added.
“The sentence has entered into force,” the police explained.
