Penza, 25 December 2015. PenzaNews. The police have detained a homeless man on charges of stealing more than 21,000 rubles from a handbag hanging on the gate by the Penza Church of Supreme Apostles St. Peter and Paul, left by an elderly woman, 55.

“A police dispatch arrived to the scene and organized a series of investigative measures, which helped locate the link to a former convict, 36. All police dispatches received the orders to detain him on sight. Shortly afterwards, the man was located by private security forces, and brought to the police,” the press service of the Penza region Ministry of the Interior department informed PenzaNews agency.

The theft is currently under investigation, they added.
