Penza, 29 December 2015. PenzaNews. A Penza woman, 37, has lost 70,000 rubles to scammers when trying to sell a fitness machine for 13,000 rubles on an online ad site.

“She received a call from an unknown man who said he was willing to buy the item, but needed the seller to do certain steps beforehand to transfer the money. Following his instructions, the woman made several operations, and read out her bank card number to the unidentified person. Following that, she found out that a sum of money was withdrawn from her account,” the press service of the Penza region Ministry of the Interior department informed PenzaNews agency.

The fraud case is currently under investigation, they explained.

“The police are working on establishing the identities of the culprits,” the press service added.
