“According to preliminary data, the driver of a VAZ-21074 hit the buy in the afternoon of Saturday, March 5,” the press service of the Penza region traffic police department informed PenzaNews.

The police urged the parents to keep in mind that bicycle is a vehicle, and riding a bicycle poses more danger than most other pastimes.

“If a child ends up on the runway, he could struggle to find his way in the transport flow, control the situation around himself and keep the safety rules in mind. Any change on the road can cause confusion and panicking for the child, which may result in a traffic accident,” the press service noted.

They reminded that children under 14 are strictly not allowed to ride along the runway.

“Also, they are prohibited from crossing the runway while riding a bicycle – even along the road crossings. Children absolutely must dismount the bicycles before crossing. However, even a 14-year-old teenager does not realize the full scope of responsibility or have the necessary abilities to ride along urban roads on his own. We encourage young bicycle-riders to wear protection. Knee pads, shoulder pads, and a helmet are crucial to protect yourself from potential injuries,” the traffic police added.
