Two police officers have died as a Lada Kalina and a police patrol Lada Priora collided at the 600th km of the M5 “Ural” federal highway in the Mokshan area of the Penza region at 9.40 of Sunday, May 1, the press service of the regional Ministry of the Interior department informed PenzaNews.

In addition, one more police officer who was in the Lada Priora was hospitalized with injuries, they added.

“Reportedly, the Lada Kalinina driving from Penza towards Moscow steered onto the opposite lane,” the police said, adding that the incident resulted in a collision with the Lada Priora that was heading in the opposite direction.

The details of the incident are yet to be established, the press service reminded.

“We at the Interior Ministry department of the Penza region would like to express our deepest condolences to relatives and friends of the deceased,” they added.
