Camel herd attacks car on way from Astrakhan region to Penza

Astrakhan, 8 June 2016. PenzaNews. A herd of camels attacked a Toyota Auris that was driving from the Astrakhan region to Penza, the press service of the Astrakhan region Ministry of the Interior department informed Penzanews.

According to them, the incident occurred in the evening at the section of the Bolshaya Seitovka – Vatazhnoe – Kazakhstan Border highway by Jatai village.
“The 37-year-old driver of the Toyota Auris spotted the camel herd and stopped the car. The animals were scared by the sound of the approaching car, ran towards it and jumped on it. As a result, the vehicle was seriously damaged – the windshield was broken, the metal is dented in several places,” the police said.
According to them, the passengers – a woman born in 1981, a newborn baby girl, and her 5-year-old sister – were not injured.
“The family had to cancel a long-distance trip to another city,” the Ministry said.
As the press service noted, the traffic police officers registered the incident and found the owners of the camel herd.
“The investigation will be reported to the local governance to fine the owner of the herd. In accordance with the regional legislation, the violation of cattle herding and crossing rules that led to damages or injuries incurs a fine of up to 5,000 rubles for individuals, up to 15,000 rubles for responsible entities, and up to 30,000 rubles for legal entities,” said the press service of the Astrakhan region Ministry of the Interior department.
