The 21-year-old Natalya Mescheryakova and the 23-year-old Temurzhon Yermatov, who were last seen on the riverbank of the Sputnik-City in Zasechnoe village of the Penza region exactly a week ago (on Wednesday, June 22) swimming away on an inflatable mattress, were found dead, Yulia Pilyasova, acting senior assistant of the head of the regional Investigative Committee for media relations, told PenzaNews.

“The body of the man was discovered on Monday, June 27. The girl’s body was discovered on the day after,” she clarified.

The investigation of the incident is underway, she added.

According to Yulia Pilyasova, the exact cause of their death will be established in a forensic examination; however, exterior inspection shows no signs of criminal involvement.
