Employee of “Nevsky konditer” looses hand in Penza region

Penza, 24 August 2016. PenzaNews. A criminal case on violation of labor protection requirements was instituted on the fact of injury to the employee of “Nevsky konditer” factory, located in the working village Mokshan, the Penza region.

“According to investigators, on August 23 at around 16.00 woman, born 1994, working as operator of pulling machine in the confectionery shop located in Mokshan, carried out work on the production of caramel. When the caramel mass got stuck on a conveyor belt of te pulling machine, the worker tried to push it through, got stuck herself, and her hand tightened into a rotating mechanism. As a result, she received the following injuries: traumatic separation of the left arm, fractured ribs and a fractured jaw, which is regarded as a serious bodily injury,” Yulia Pilyasova, acting senior assistant of the head of the regional Investigative Committee for media relations, told PenzaNews.
She said that a criminal case was opened under p. 1, Art. 143 of the Criminal Code “Violation of labor protection requirements.”
“At present, the police carry out necessary investigations aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident and the perpetrators, as well as necessary expertise,” the agency interlocutor added.
