Regional MIA: Teenagers who jumped off bridge in Penza wanted to make money on videos

Penza, 12 September 2016. PenzaNews. The teenagers, who burned up each other for fun and jumped off the Bridge of Friendship in Penza while recording everything, wanted to make money on the number of views in the network. This was reported to the news agency PenzaNews by the press service of the regional office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region.

“The incident participants were identified in the course of operational procedures. They are Penza residents born 1997, 1999 and 2000. They were taken to the office of the MIA in Penza together with their legal representatives to ascertain the circumstances of the incident,” the police said.

The office added that the video was recorded by the scenario approved beforehand in the evening on Saturday, September 11.

“The young men planned to make a video for posting in the social networks with the purpose of making money on the number of views. They distributed the roles in advance and prepared dry clothes on the bank, which they were supposed to change into after the jump, as well as gasoline. The participants of the shooting, who acted as extra players, were invited through the social networks and were not acquainted with them in person. As a result of the incident, one of the teenagers suffered minor burns, but did not ask for medical help,” the press service said.

The police noted that currently the juvenile inspectors are investigating whether the teenagers’ parents knew about their children’s entertainments, the video recording and the consequences of the incident.

“Depending on the circumstances, the issue on bringing the legal representatives of minors to administrative responsibility for improper performance of their responsibilities of bringing-up the children will be dealt with,” the regional MIA concluded.
