Penza, 29 September 2016. PenzaNews. Two road accidents involving elks are registered on the territory of the Penza region on Wednesday, September 28.

“Thank God, everything worked out — the elks survived. One collision occurred near the tennis court at Akhuny, and the second one — on the road “Penza – Zolotarevka” closer to Leonidovka,” Denis Kiselmanov, head of the department for protection and use of wildlife and activities licensing of the regional forestry ministry.

According to him, the drivers should not be subjected to punishment.

“Claims will not be presented, the elks are alive. So let it be said that there are no victims,” the agency interlocutor noted.

Denis Kiselmanov added that in case of animal’s death, the driver or insurance company should receive claims in the amount of 40 thousand rubles for each animal killed to recover damage caused to the hunting resources.
