She explained that the incident is being investigated.
"During the repairs of heat exchanger, high pressure steam spewed out and broke the roof supports. As a result, the roof of the department where the turbine was located collapsed. After that, the work of one of the turbines that supplies coolant to Penza residents was stopped," the interlocutor said.
Svetlana Artamonova said that the hydraulic blow caused three gusts at the thermal highways: two – on the pipe 700 mm in diameter, and one – on the pipe 800 mm in diameter.
"In order to provide heat to the population, we are currently working on connecting a backup heat supply source – a turbine, and eliminating guts at the networks. We created regional and municipal headquarters on emergency situation elimination, which feature workers of procuracy bodies," she explained.
Svetlana Artamonova reminded that a criminal case under Part 2, Art. 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Violation of safety rules on explosive objects" was opened.
At present, the air temperature in Penza dropped to -20ºС.
