Penza, 2 February 2017. PenzaNews. On Thursday afternoon, February 2, about 180 people were evacuated from boarding school No. 1 in Prospekt Pobedy street in Penza because of a suspicious object near the building.

"The janitor discovered the suspicious object while cleaning the territory of boarding school No. 1. He reported this to the police. An investigation group, bomb disposal technicians, and dog handlers were sent to the school at once. 153 children and 25 workers were evacuated," the head of the information and public relations office of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Olga Evdokimova told PenzaNews.

According to her, the territory inspection showed that the object that had drawn the janitor's attention was a broken telephone with the wires the ends of which went into the snow.

According to the information available to PenzaNews, workers of the EMERCOM and medics arrived to the boarding school after the alarming call. When the possibility of a dangerous situation was excluded, representatives of all services returned to their current work.
