Zarechny, 21 March 2017. PenzaNews. A mummified body of a woman, born 1962, was found in a flat in one of the houses in Svetlaya street in Zarechny of the Penza region.

The corpse was found almost a week ago – on March 15, but the fact became known only now.

As it was reported by the senior assistant of the head of the regional Investigative Committee for media relations Lyudmila Fomina, at present the department conducts an investigation aimed at establishing circumstances of the incident.

"According to neighbours, the woman lived alone and did not communicate with relatives," the interlocutor explained.

She added that investigators examine relatives and friends of the deceased.

According to the newspaper Nash Gorod, the resident of Zarechny died in October, 2016. Even though the body remained in the flat for almost five months, it did not decompose. In addition, there was no peculiar smell while entering the apartment.
