Penza, 13 April 2017. PenzaNews. During three months of the year 2017, 24 traffic accidents happened in the Penza region due to the fault of bus drivers. As a result of the accidents one person was killed and 36 – were injured.

18 accidents were registered in Penza. In 12 cases, injuries were caused by fall of passengers in public transport.

Typical reasons for the accidents include speed limit exceeding, poor discipline of drivers, violation of traffic safety rules and others.

In order to check the quality of drivers' work, officers of the traffic police conducted covert observation using video recording equipment from a car that did not have a respective colour scheme.

They registered over 2,500 administrative offenses.

The issues of passenger transportation safety were discussed at the meeting that was held in the regional department of the traffic police of the department of the ministry of internal affairs on Thursday, April 13.

Participants of the meeting made a number of decisions connected with the issue including installing digital video recorders in buses, the website of the state traffic police informs.
