Penza, 15 September 2017. PenzaNews. Owners and workers of points of sale, a tyre repair workshop and warehouses located in a one-storeyed building at 20 Litvinova street, Penza are counting losses after a huge fire that occurred on Friday morning, September 15.

They arrived to the scene of the incident before the open combustion was extinguished but failed to approach the burning building for security reasons – police officers who were on duty took care that nobody entered the building.

After a foam attack was carried out and the firefighters finished washing-down, workers of the organizations located in the building started to go inside to assess the extent of the destruction.

Inside they saw the following: what had not been damaged by the fire was flooded during the extinguishing.

The walls and the ceiling were covered with soot, foam residues could be seen on containers with automobile chemical goods, batteries and tyres.

Within several hours after the incident, the workers of the companies tried to reveal and save what had survived.

As it was reported by the head of information and public relations division of the main EMERCOM department in the Penza region Anna Shupilova, the fire area in Litvinova street in Penza equalled to 300 square metres.

The cause of the incident is established.
