Kuznetsk, 9 December 2017. PenzaNews. The Kuznetsk area court of the Penza region partially satisfied the claim of a woman who had been injured in a traffic accident a year ago and had turned to court to recover compensation for moral damage from the driver of the Lada Kalina car in the amount of 200,000 roubles.

"It was established that the victim crossed the road in Stroiteley street at a place where there were no pedestrian crossings but which were visible in Pobedy and Levanevskogo streets. Taking into account organization of traffic at this crossroads, the woman could have reached the opposite side of the road by means of consecutive crossing of Pobedy, Levanevskogo and again Pobedy streets," an official representative of the Kuznetsk area court told PenzaNews.

He added that the pedestrian violated traffic regulations demonstrating gross negligence.

"The amount of compensation for moral injury was determined at the rate of 110,000 roubles. The defendant was also charged with costs of paying representative's services in the amount of 15,000 roubles and was obliged to pay a state duty equal to 300 roubles. The defendant disagreed with the court's decision and appealed it to the higher authority," the interlocutor explained specifying that the decision had remained unchanged and had entered into legal force.
