Penza, 29 December 2017. PenzaNews. Law enforcement authorities checked Penza shopping centres after calls about mining, no dangerous items were found. This was reported by the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

"On the night of December 18 shopping centres located in Penza received telephone calls about mining. Police officers and other special services immediately arrived at the scene and conducted all necessary inspection activities. As a result, nothing dangerous was found," the department commented.

The police added that measures are being taken to identify persons involved in the deliberate provision of false information about a terrorism act.

"For such crimes, the penal part of Article 207 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation presupposes a maximum penalty in the form of a fine up to 200,000 roubles or imprisonment for a period of up to 3 years," the press service specified.

According to eyewitnesses, at night the shop "Tsentralny" in Karpinskogo street, shopping centre "Prospekt" in Prospekt Stroiteley street, the shopping and office centre "Hermes" at the intersection of Moskovskaya and Kuraeva streets were cordoned off.
