This was reported by Tatyana Makhnitskaya, senior assistant of the head of the regional investigative department for media relations under the Investigative Committee of Russia.

"The causes of fire vary. These are malfunction of wiring and electrical appliances used for heating, improper operation of furnace equipment, use of dangerous devices and handmade structures, careless handling of fire," the interlocutor explained.

According to her, in most cases the victims were in a state of alcoholic intoxication, which contributed to an increase in the risk of fire.
