According to preliminary information four people died as a result of the collision of a Hyundai Elantra car with a Volvo truck with a semi-trailer that occurred at the 556th kilometre of the federal highway M5 "Ural" in the Nizhnelomovsky area of the Penza region on Saturday, January 5.

"The driver of the car and three passengers – a man, a woman and a child – died at the scene from injures. The driver of the Volvo – a man born 1996 – was slightly injured. On receiving medical assistance he was allowed to leave," the propaganda department of the traffic police of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation said.

The department added that investigation on the fact of the traffic accident was being conducted, the identities of the dead were being established.
