Penza, 23 April 2019. PenzaNews. 44 people were killed in road accidents in the Penza region in the first quarter of 2019. This was reported by governor Ivan Belozertsev.

"486 people were injured," he added at an extended meeting of the commission of road safety held in the government of the Penza region via videoconferencing on Tuesday, April 23.

The head of the region noted that in the period from January to March there had been 364 accidents in the Penza region, with 98% of them caused by traffic rule violation.

"Entire families die in traffic accidents," Ivan Belozertsev said specifying that as a result of 37 accidents involving children and teenagers one minor had died.
