Over 20 people made homeless as result of night fire in Penza
Penza, 24 July 2019. PenzaNews. Fire in a wooden two-storey eight-apartment residential house in Galetnaya Street in Penza, where more than 20 people were registered, occurred in the night of Wednesday, July 24.
According to the press service of the city hall, the fire originated in an outbuilding, and then spread to the residential building. The signal about ignition was received at 23.49. The fire was brought under control at 1.01, and extinguished at 1.26.
Forces and machinery of five fire stations and the department for civil defence and emergency situations of Penza under MIA of Russia were attracted to put out the fire.
Employees of the branch of JSC Gazprom Gazoraspredelenie Penza disconnected the house from gas supply, JSC Gorelektroset – from electricity.
A total of 49 specialists and 14 pieces of equipment worked on the site.
The fire completely destroyed the roof of the house on an area of about 200 square meters. The second floor and partially the first one burnt out. All living space was damaged. Nobody was injured.
At the moment, access to dangerous areas near the building is limited, protection of public order and property is organized.
