During the meeting that was held in the Penza regional government on Thursday, July 6, the first deputy chairman of the regional government reported that the main offices of mobile communications operators that are members of the so-called "big four" – MTS, MegaFon, VimpelCom (TM Beeline) and Tele2 are located in Moscow.
"Except for some departments that pay a personal income tax here, at their location," he specified.
In turn, Ivan Belozertsev noted that in this case it is unprofitable for the region to support such companies.
"We should get in touch with the Minister of Telecom [and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation Nikolai Nikiforov] and talk over the issue. What is the sense of supporting a company if we understand that it pays taxes to the central region? Each head of a region fights for their citizens, for development of their region," the governor of the Penza region said.
