Rostelecom provides Internet connection to 48 medical institutions of Penza region

Penza, 18 December 2017. PenzaNews. Within the framework of execution of a state contract, the Penza branch of PJSC "Rostelecom" provided Internet access to 48 medical institutions in 2017. This was reported by the first deputy chairman of the regional government Andrei Kulintsev.

He also noted that the operator continues implementation of the federal project "Elimination of digital inequality" aimed at territories with the number of inhabitants from 250 to 500 people.
"Currently, Wi-Fi access points are installed in 63 small settlements of the Penza region. Before January 31, 2018, it is planned to lay optical communication lines and to equip other 18 settlements of the Belinsky and Nizhnelomovsky areas with access points," the first deputy chairman of the regional government specified during the meeting with representatives of the communication and information technology branch on Monday, December 18.
Andrei Kulintsev reminded that according to the decision of the company's management, the Internet access provided to residents within the project was free.
"Regardless of where our citizens live — in the centre of the region, in towns of the areas, or in the most remote settlements, we should strive to provide them with the same quality of life in terms of both cellular communication, Internet access and other services," he said.
