Meeting between students and employers held in Penza IT college in meetup format for first time

Penza, 1 March 2018. PenzaNews. The meeting between heads and specialists of Penza IT companies and final-year students of Information and Industrial Technology College, which was held on Thursday, March 1, was conducted in the format of meetup for the first time.

It gathered about 120 students of different faculties in the assembly hall. Soft pouffes and armchairs had been placed there to create informal atmosphere.

The presentation entitled "100 questions to IT specialist" started with the fact that teachers explained what skills graduates of the departments of information security, computer science and engineering, computer systems and complexes have.

Then employers-to-be took the floor speaking about their companies and projects. They listed the requirements for applicants and invited the students to work in the companies.

In particular, the meeting featured representatives of Rosoperator, Macsoft, Bit.Games, Open Solutions, Streamwood, Russian Post, as well as the centre of employment of Penza population.

Svetlana Abroskina, an HR manager, turned to the students on behalf of the production cluster Rosoperator noting that the structure of the interregional research and production cluster includes 19 organizations that are engaged in the creation of automation systems, support of software and hardware complexes as well as formation of infrastructure.

Rosoperator is interested in a continuous improvement of its employees' work quality and their skills. There is a training centre, which has certain licences for educational activity, as well as the Fund of Information Technologies Development at the premises of the cluster," she said noting that there are also communities of young professionals in the company.

Svetlana Abroskina added that Rosoperator is ready to consider young specialists for different positions giving them an opportunity to realize their potential.

In turn, the financial director of the Macsoft company Sergei Kuznetsov urged those present not to be afraid to make themselves known, to try themselves in different areas of work to understand what they really like.

"We give them the chance. Our company has available vacancies and we are ready to hire a group of young professionals – two, three, or four people – as many as we will need. It is necessary that they get acquainted with the company, work in some projects," he said.

Then, the representative of Open Solutions Alexander Shuvalov explained that the company he represents firstly teaches college and university graduates the basics of the profession and if they show good results and interest, they receive an opportunity for professional growth.

At the end of the event the students were able to ask questions and to submit CVs.

The meetup presentation "100 questions to IT specialist" was organized by the Ministry of Education of the Penza region, Information and Industrial Technology College and LLC Cluster Development Centre. Events in such a format are planned to be held in the future.
