Penza, 16 March 2018. PenzaNews. "Industry 4.0" became the main theme of the 10th two-day international software engineering conference Secon, which started at the premises of the Penza regional M.Y. Lermontov library on Friday, March 16.

A display acquainting visitors with activities of IT companies and their partners was organized before the start of the event in the library's hall.

Welcoming participants at the opening ceremony, Governor Ivan Belozertsev noted that technological breakthrough sought by all countries is impossible without the development of the information technology industry.

According to him, to achieve considerable success in this area it is necessary to reconsider the approach to education.
"I am ready to allocate money from the regional budget for an individual support programme, training and teaching of specialists," the region head said.

In turn, chairman of Secon-2018 software developers association of the Penza region, head of the company CodeInside Maxim Semenkin drew attention to the fact that a whole range of the technologies that significantly alter the life of humanity nowadays and will do so even more in the future is available nowadays.

"We have invited not only IT companies but also representatives of traditional business in order to think how technologies created by our industry can help it," he explained.

Maxim Semenkin added that the first day of the event should be considered as a kind of an invitation to cooperation and the second one – as demonstration of region's potential.

Software developers and other specialists were also greeted by director of the Penza branch of the PJSC Rostelecom Lev Dyatlov.
He noted that as a large sponsor, the operator is glad to support the conference, which gathers such interested audience year by year.

Lev Dyatlov added that the telecommunications infrastructure cannot fully benefit without content, without promising innovations and smart gadgets that improve the lives of individuals.

"The benefit of the event is that in the process of communication we will find new areas of application of our abilities," the director of the branch said.

A panel discussion “Industry 4.0. Why are we here?” was a start event of the 10th conference Secon. Its moderator was editor-in-chief of the Internet medium Energoatlas Maria Stepnova, who had came from Ekaterinburg.

As it was reported before, the Software Engineering Conference Secon has been held in Penza since April 2007.

It has been organized by the association of software engineers of the Penza region Secon, which also includes eight companies: the interregional research and production cluster Rosoperator, CodeInside, Bit.Games, Tortuga, FunCorp, Okdesk, Moe Delo, Virgom Corp.

Since 2013 the conference has been supported by the Penza region government, since 2014 Cluster Development Centre has acted as its co-organizer.
