The Penza region occupied the 39th position in the rating of regions in teaching computer literacy to senior citizens, which was based on the results of the contest "Thanks to the Internet – 2018". This was said by the regional Department of Information Technologies and Communication.

"In total, more than 3,500 pensioners from 74 regions of Russia took part in the competition. Their average age was 63 years," the department noted.

The department added that the statistics about the participants as well as the rating will be submitted to the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation as well as to other departments engaged in the issue.
