A total of seven people have been infected with swine flu in the Penza region since the beginning of 2016, announced Mikhail Perekusikhin, head of the regional Rospotrebnadzor department, during the press conference held in the regional Health Ministry on Wednesday, January 20.

Those include three children under 14, and two of them had received the flu shots earlier, noted Galina Rozhkova, head of Health Protection and Public Sanitary Welfare Department of the Penza region Health Ministry.

“All of them were hospitalized in a moderately severe condition,” she said.

In turn, Oksana Chizhova, who is temporarily performing the duties of the Penza region Health Minister Vladimir Stryuchkov while the latter is on holiday, added that some of the infected already were signed out of the hospital.
