“We uncovered facts of medicine storage at improper temperature, absence of medicine included in the list of vital and essential drugs, as well as lack of information on maximum sale prices for vital and essential drugs,” Yulia Makarova, Senior Assistant Attorney of the region in Media Relations, told PenzaNews.

Moreover, some drugstores sold medicine without receipts, exceeded maximum sale prices and kept expired medicine in stock, she added.

“We made 13 submissions to rectify the violations. 5 people were already subjected to disciplinary punishment as a result, while the rest are currently under review,” she stressed.

As Yulia Makarova pointed out, the uncovered violations resulted in 16 orders on initiation of administrative proceedings.

“Four people were held administratively liable, and one more person received a warning against breaking the law,” she said.
