In particular, the parties discussed the cooperation of the region with the Israeli TMC Horev Medical Center.

During the event, Ivan Belozertsev recalled the “Doctors Without Borders” campaign that took place in the region: for several days, medical experts from Israel were consulting patients in city medical institutions.

“The consultations provided by your colleagues from Israel to patients of the Penza region and adjacent regions were very important, we are very greatful for the work, as well as for their visit to the regional oncology treatment center and praise for professional skills of Penza doctors,” he said.

The head of the region reaffirmed that he is ready to further develop the cooperation in the healthcare field and discuss the conditions for a mutual project to create a post-operation rehabilitation center in the Penza region.

In addition, Ivan Belozertsev touched upon the issue of using anesthesia during operations that involve significant pain.

“It is very important for us to prevent the suffering of our people. In order to do that, we are ready to allow certain expenses, procure state-of-the-line equipment, study new technologies and treatments. We realize that doctors in Israeli clinics have great experience in treating various illnesses and diseases – not only in oncology, but also in other medical fields. We seek to integrate and introduce this experience in healthcare institutions of the Penza region,” he pointed out.

The governor also stressed the importance of improving the skills of Penza medical personnel.

“We must consider setting up a standalone re-education or career enhancement program for Penza medical experts in Israeli clinics,” Ivan Belozertsev said.

According to Roman Barak, theoretical and practical cooperation with the medical experts of the Penza region is in the interest of Israeli doctors, and may serve as a foundation for development of the healthcare rehabilitation field in Penza medical institutions.

In conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed on cooperation in the cutting-edge medical services field.
