Penza officials propose to impose monetary penalties on patients ignoring doctor’s visits

Penza, 15 April 2016. PenzaNews. The patients must be subjected to monetary penalties for neglecting their health, suggested Sergei Degtyar, chairman of the health protection, demographics and childhood committee of the Penza region Civic Chamber.

“Just look at our situation with the healthcare, and we are to be solving it anyway: we have no patents’ responsibility for their own health. They are not responsible for it, the healthcare system is. […] Take the periodical health examinations, for example. They are skipping on them, with no responsibility for that. You must realize that we must introduce responsibility into the mix,” he said during the 2015 conclusion plenary meeting on Friday, April 15.
“If they don’t come once, that means certain medical visits must be available on a paid basis only. We won’t get around that in any way. This must be done,” the Civic Chamber member added.
