Penza, 20 April 2016. PenzaNews. Over 30 experts of “Biomed” cluster enterprises involved in production of surgical medical devices are taking part in the 14-day advanced courses held in the Penza “Rameev” technopark.

The career enhancement courses were provided through support from the Penza region Center of Cluster Development.

The experts are guided by the staff of the PSU medical institute, with leading academicians – Afanasiy Baulin, Cand. M. Sc., associate professor of the Maxillofacial Surgery department; and Stanislav Sivakon, M.D., professor of the Traumatic Surgery, Orthopedy and Military and Extreme Medicine department – as their lectors.

The cluster enterprises personnel are studying the basics of human anatomy, cardiovascular and locomotor physiology, and clinical presentation of the major congenital acquired diseases in those two areas.

Also, the course will teach them about the potential complications after a surgery and the basics of post-op rehabilitation after a cardiovascular or locomotor system surgery.

Reportedly, the new knowledge will help them increase effectiveness in designing new surgery-designed medical devices.

The 72-academic-hour course will conclude in April 29, and its participants will receive certificates of recognition.
