Over 50% of malignant tumors detected at early stages in Penza region

Penza, 26 August 2016. PenzaNews. 3,870 cases of malignant tumors have been found among residents of the Penza region within seven months of 2016, including 2,049 diagnosed at early stages, sates the message posted on the website of the regional Ministry of Health on Friday, August 26.

It notes that the early diagnosis of cancer involves checkups as part of the clinical examination — both additional and target one, screening tests, and visual inspection.

According to official data, the so-called “five-year survival rate” of patients with cancer, which reflects the percentage of patients surviving 5 years after the detection of cancer, amounted to 56.4% in the Penza region in 7 months this year, which is 3.8% higher than last year.
