It will be modern, located in a new building on the territory of the clinic on Volodarskogo Street.

On Friday, September 16, the new medical facility was visited by Governor Ivan Belozertsev, Mayor Victor Kuvaytsev and other officials.

According to the chief doctor of sports medicine center Yuliya Smirnova, the facility will provide medical check-ups of athletes, conduct their examination, treatment and rehabilitation.

“We will also be engaged in rehabilitation of children and young people at the stages of physical education,” she explained.

In turn, the Minister of Health of the Penza region Vladimir Stryuchkov said that the center will perform in compliance with federal requirements.

“In January, the Sports Medicine Center will become a legal entity,” he stressed.

Responding to a question about the personnel, the minister explained that part of the doctors is already there, and the remaining staff is trained.

As the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Penza region told PenzaNews, currently medical examination of patients engaged in physical activity and sports is carried out by four specialists of sports medicine in hospital No. 4.

“The new facility will offer additional specialists: cardiologist, gynecologist, urologist, ophthalmologist. Particular attention will be paid to training of specialists in physical therapy and rehabilitation, as well as the doping control,” the ministry said.
