It is expected that the conference will be attended by leading experts from Moscow, Kazan, and Samara.

Penza doctors will be presented new developments in the field of diagnostics, treatment and organization of assistance to glaucoma patients.

According to Rashid Galeev, Distinguished Doctor of Russia, chief medical officer of the Penza regional ophthalmology hospital, the number of glaucoma patients in the region increases every year – in 2014 there were 8,608 people, and in 2016 – 10,108.

"The main role in treatment of glaucoma plays secondary prevention, that is identifying the disease at an early stage and not allowing its development. For this reason, it is recommended that every person after 40 measures intraocular pressure by means of tonometry," the press service of the regional Ministry of Health quotes Rashid Galeev.
