Penza, 26 July 2017. PenzaNews. Amateurs who provide cosmetic services without required education undermine confidence in this area of medicine. "Medical cosmetology started to develop not so long ago – about 12-13 years ago. [...] During all this period of time we accumulated knowledge about what and how we should do and what we should not do. Unfortunately, over the last probably three years cases of complications – from mild to fatal ones – became so frequent that it made cosmetologists anxious," she said at the briefing that was held in the Ministry of Health of the Penza region on Wednesday, July 26.
Ekaterina Bodganova added that no cases of fatal outcome due to provision of low-quality cosmetic services were registered in the Penza region.
At the same time, according to her, members of the association of cosmetologists established in March 2017 advocate education and instruction of consumers, which will help to avoid deplorable consequences and formation of a negative opinion about the profession.
"As a result, a medical reputation is damaged, discredit to the profession occurs," the cosmetologist noted.
