Rise in incidence of hepatitis A registered in Penza region

Penza, 10 August 2017. PenzaNews. Another cyclical rise in incidence of hepatitis A was registered in the Penza region over the first six months of the year 2017. This was reported on the website of the regional department of the Federal Service on Surveillance for Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-being (Rospotrebnadzor).

According to the department, persons aged 30-55 are involved in the epidemiological process.
118 cases of hepatitis A were registered over six months. The infection rate amounted to 8.8 per 100,000 population.
Eight of the sick people are children under the age of 14, and three of them are teenagers aged 15-17.
Niduses were registered in 12 municipalities of the region. A high rate of incidence was registered in big territories with a large concentration of people. In particular, 41.5% of cases were registered in Penza.
