Slightly over 30% of population in Penza region vaccinated against influenza

Penza, 24 October 2017. PenzaNews. A total of 30% of the Penza region population was covered with immunization against influenza. This was reported by the press service of the regional department of the Federal Service on Surveillance for Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-being (Rospotrebnadzor).

According to the department, in 2017 it is planned to vaccinate 642,300 people altogether. Most of them will receive the vaccines within a national calendar and 42,000 residents – at the expense of local sources of funding.
There was registered increase in incidence of acute respiratory disease in the Penza region. Last week it rose by 6.9% compared to the previous one.
At the same time, the morbidity level is 53.6% lower than an epidemic threshold in the region and 64% lower than that in Penza.
